The Post Mortem: I Should Have Read That Email Twice...

Sometimes a rejection isn’t really a rejection, instead it can be an editor showing you exactly what’s missing.

This week, I’m sharing an embarrassing pitch with you. Not because the pitch itself was a disaster, it certainly had legs, but because of what I did after the editor replied. Or rather, what I didn’t do. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and replies from editors that look like one thing can magically look like something else after a period of reflection, if that’s not too cryptic for you all. Enjoy!

By the way…If you have a failed pitch that came back from an editor with feedback, forward it to me at pitchfailclub@outlook.com and if we use it, you’ll be able to take yourself and a friend out for two cheap coffees on us!
